Tamil Nadu: Sathya murder accused held under the Goondas Act

CHENNAI: Twenty-nine-year-old D Satish who pushed a woman, Sathya, in front of a moving train at St Thomas Mount railway station on October 13 that resulted in her death has been detained under the Goondas Act.
Apart from him, police have detained 17 other people involved in various offences endangering human lives under the Act in the last one week.
Hours after Sathya’s death, her father P Manickam, 47, a cab driver killed himself. A special police team arrested the accused near Thoraipakkam the same night. The next day, DGP C Sylendra Babu transferred to the CB-CID.
CB-CID sleuths had sought three days custody of inquire Satish.
