Appointment of 130 doctors approved

Bhubaneswar: Appointment of 130 assistant professors of Odisha Medical Education Service (OMES) cadre was approved on Saturday. These appointments have been made in nine broad-speciality disciplines.
CM Naveen Patnaik has approved the appointment on the recommendation of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). Earlier, appointments were given to 65 assistant professors in seven broad-speciality disciplines in September and October.
Altogether 195 assistant professors have been appointed in 16 broad specialities in the state this year. The specialities include general medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, anatomy, ophthalmology, among others. It will help in furthering the standards of medical education and providing quality healthcare to people, official sources said.
