Nashik: Biker mowed down by truck driven on wrong side

NASHIK: A 20-year-old biker was killed in a road accident after he was knocked down by a speeding truck coming from the wrong side of Peth Road at around 12.15 am on Friday.
Panchavati police have registered an FIR against the unidentified truck driver for an offence punishable under section 304 A of the Indian Penal Code for causing death due to negligence.
The deceased has been identified as Vishal Bimte, a resident of Peth Road, Panchavati. The truck driver escapedthe scene after knocking down the biker.
Bimte suffered serious injuries on the head, face and right side of the body. He was rushed to the Nashik civil hospital where he was declared dead.
Panchavati police said a truck driver was driving his truck on Peth Road towards the Panchavati side at around 12.15 am. He was driving the vehicle on the wrong side of the road when he knocked down the biker
The Panchavati police are investigating the case.
