
Assembly Bypoll Election Results 2022 Live Updates, November 06, 2022: BJP candidate Bhavya Bishnoi has emerged victorious in the Adampur Assembly byelection with a significant margin of 16,606 votes. In Gola Gokarannath, BJP candidate Aman Giri won by defeating his nearest rival and Samajwadi Party candidate by over 34,000 votes, news agency PTI reported. The saffron party also retained Gopalganj constituency in Bihar. Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) retained the Mokama Assembly seat of Bihar. As the counting of votes progresses, BJP’s Suryabanshi Suraj is leading in Dhamnagar constituency. According to PTI, Rutuja Latke, the candidate of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), won the bypoll to Andheri (East) Assembly seat in Mumbai. TRS’ Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy is currently leading in Telangana’s Munugode.
Most seats witnessed a fierce contest between the BJP and regional parties such as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the Samajwadi Party (SP), and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). Among the seven seats where bypolls were held, the BJP held three seats and the Congress two, while the Shiv Sena and the RJD had one each.
The bypoll in Adampur was necessitated after former sitting MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi resigned from the Vidhan Sabha in August to switch from the Congress to the BJP. Andheri East contest was held due to the untimely death of Sena MLA Ramesh Latke. The Mokama seat, in Bihar, fell vacant after Anant Singh, the sitting MLA, was dismissed due to a conviction in a criminal case. The contest in Gopalganj, also in Bihar, was necessitated due to the death of sitting BJP MLA Subhash Singh. Munugode witnessed a bypoll after sitting MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy resigned on August 2. The bypoll was necessitated in Gola Gokarannath Assembly seat of Lakhimpur Kheri district following the death of sitting MLA Arvind Giri, while Dhamnagar seat fell vacant due to the untimely demise of sitting BJP MLA Bishnu Charan Das.
Rutuja Latke, the candidate of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), on Sunday won the bypoll to Andheri (East) Assembly seat in Mumbai, news agency PTI reported.
The November 3 byelection, necessitated due to the death of sitting Shiv Sena MLA and Rutuja Latke's Ramesh Latke in May this year, was a mere formality after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) withdrew its candidate from the race.
This was the first electoral contest in Maharashtra after the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government collapsed in June following a revolt by a section of Shiv Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde. Shinde subsequently became chief minister in an alliance with the BJP. (PTI)
The BJP retained the Gopalganj assembly seat in Bihar, beating the RJD in a bypoll that turned out to be a cliffhanger of a contest.
BJP candidate Kusum Devi, wife MLA Subhash Singh whose death had necessitated the by-election, polled 70,032 votes, while RJD's Mohan Gupta got 68,243.
Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM and Mayawati's BSP, often accused of being the BJP's "B team" by the RJD, finished third and fourth respectively, together accounting for more than 20,000 votes.
Notably, BSP candidate Indira Yadav is the wife of Sadhu Yadav, younger brother of RJD president Lalu Prasad's wife Rabri Devi. Sadhu Yadav had won the seat in 2000. (PTI)
BJP Mumbai president Ashish Shelar Sunday congratulated Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena candidate Rutuja Latke. "Latke's victory is with the BJPs help. The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) did not mobilise more votes. Had the BJP contested the byelection, the Shiv Sena candidate would have lost. So, it should realise that Rutuja Latke's win is with the help of BJP," Shelar said.
When the 19th round of counting ended in Andheri (East), the total number of votes received by Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena’s Rutuja Latke reached 66,247. NOTA has received 12,776 votes so far.
BJP candidate Suryabanshi Suraj widened his lead to 4,845 votes over his BJD rival Abanti Das for Dhamnagar bypoll in Odisha's Bhadrak district, Election Commission (EC) trends revealed on Sunday.
According to the EC, Suraj secured 45,321 votes after the 10th round of counting, while Das bagged 40,476.
Congress nominee Baba Harekrushna Sethi got 1,895 votes. (PTI)
As the counting of votes in Telangana's Munugode progresses, TRS’ Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy is leading with 38,521 votes (41.23%). BJP's Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy is currently trailing with 36,352 votes (38.91%).
Following BJP candidate Bhavya Bishnoi's victory in the Adampur Assembly byelection, his father Kuldeep Bishnoi Sunday said: "It's a victory of the policies of PM Modi, of the working of CM Khattar, of the trust of Adampur in Chaudhary Bhajan Lal family. I thank the people of Adampur they trusted us once again." (ANI)
When the 18th round of counting ended in Andheri (East), the total number of votes received by Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena’s Rutuja Latke reached 65,335. NOTA has received 12,691 so far.

Adampur, popularly known as Mandi Adampur, is one of Haryana’s 90 Assembly constituencies and one that former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal’s family has never lost since 1968. The trend continued on Sunday when Bhajan Lal’s grandson Bhavya Bishnoi won the seat on a BJP ticket by more than 16,000 votes.
The poll became necessary after Bhavya’s father Kuldeep Bishnoi left the Congress over differences with the party and joined the ruling dispensation. But the change in political allegiance did not matter to voters as they chose to repose their faith in Bhajan Lal’s family. This is the first bypoll victory for the ruling coalition of the BJP and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) since it came to power in 2019.

When the 16th round of counting ended in Andheri (East), the total number of votes received by Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena’s Rutuja Latke reached 58,875. NOTA has received 11,569 so far.
The family of Haryana’s former chief minister Bhajan Lal Sunday maintained its winning streak from the Adampur constituency that it had never lost since 1968. Bhajan Lal’s grandson Bhavya Bishnoi, 29, won from Adampur with a significant margin of 16,606 votes.
Voting was held on November 3 for the bypoll that was necessitated after Bhavya’s father Kuldeep Bishnoi resigned from Vidhan Sabha’s membership. Kuldeep Bishnoi, a two-time MP and four-time MLA, had quit Congress and joined the BJP in August.
The counting began for 13 rounds Sunday at 8 am at Hisar’s Mahavir stadium for the 1,31,401 votes polled in the Adampur bypoll. Read more
When the 14th round of counting ended in Andheri (East), the total number of votes received by Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena’s Rutuja Latke reached 52,507. NOTA has received 10,284 so far.
While TRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy is leading in Telangana's Munugode, BJP MP K Laxman Sunday alleged: "TRS conspired even for counting, it has been exposed. When BJP was leading in the first 3-4 rounds, it wasn't published on the official website immediately. Whereas, round-wise updates from other seats were being given."
He further said: "The situation is different in Telangana. The state government has made this poll a matter of their prestige as the BJP is rising here. Only BJP can fight TRS. I hope that the BJP will win by the last round of counting. In the days to come, there'll be a BJP wave in the state." (ANI)
In Munugode, the ruling TRS is leading after six rounds with over 1,500 votes.
Pointing out that she was confident of Rutuja Latke's victory in Andheri (East), Shiv Sena leader Neelam Gorhe alleged that the BJP had to withdraw its official candidate Murji Patel because he was controversial. She also expressed suspicion that the BJP transferred its vote share to NOTA.
Senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat said Rutuja Latke's lead underlined the growing disillusionment among people against the Shinde-Fadnavis government.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Sunday retained the Mokama assembly seat of Bihar in a by-poll necessitated by the disqualification of its MLA Anant Kumar Singh.
Singh's wife Neelam Devi, who was the party's candidate, defeated her nearest BJP rival by a comfortable margin of more than 16,000 votes. She polled 79,744 votes, while BJP's Sonam Devi got 63,003.
Singh got disqualified in July this year after conviction by a Patna court in a case related to recovery of arms and explosives from his residence. (PTI)
As counting for Dhamnagar byelection progresses, BJP's Suryabanshi Suraj is continuing his lead on the Assembly seat with a total of 22,495 votes so far.
When the tenth round of counting ended in Andheri (East), the total number of votes received by Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena’s Rutuja Latke reached 37,469 (75.52%) after she bagged 4,954 votes.
NOTA received 919 votes in this round, taking its total to 7,556 (15.23%). The number of votes NOTA received this time has surpassed its figures in the 2019 Assembly elections.
BJP candidate Suryabanshi Suraj registered a lead over his BJD rival Abanti Das by 3,261 votes after the initial rounds of counting of votes for Dhamnagar bypolls in Odisha's Bhadrak district, Election Commission (EC) trends revealed on Sunday.
According to the EC, Suraj secured 18,181 votes in the first four rounds of counting, while BJD candidate Abanti Das bagged 14,920.
Congress nominee Baba Harekrushna Sethi got 557 votes.

BJP candidate Bhavya Bishnoi is leading by a margin of 6,235 votes over his nearest rival and Congress candidate Jai Prakash in Adampur assembly after initials rounds of vote counting on Sunday.
According to initial trends, BJP's Bhavya has polled 17,633 votes while the Congress's Prakash got 11,398 votes.
INLD candidate Kurda Ram Nambardar secured 740 votes while the AAP's Satender Singh polled 380 votes, according to the initial trends. (PTI)
