Jaipur: From the next week, many places in the state are likely to witness a drastic dip in minimum temperatures. Though at some places mercury has already taken a dip and cold conditions are witnessed during late evenings and early morning hours, many other districts too will start witnessing minimum temperatures below 15°C.
Officials on Saturday said that northerly winds will become active in state guiding the mercury to take a dip. Sangaria in Hanumangarh was the coldest place in the state on Saturday where a minimum temperature of 11°C was recorded.
Jaipur Met office stated that winter has not set in majority of the places in the state except for Churu and Sikar.
People in Jaipur woke up to a comparatively chilly morning as a minimum temperature of 18.9°C was recorded in the city.
By next week, Jaipur will see a minimum temperature at or below 16°C. “For Jaipur, it will take another fortnight for winter to set in as minimum temperatures are gradually dipping here. By November 15, Jaipur is likely to see minimum temperatures below 15°C,” said an officer with the Jaipur Met office.
The Met office further stated that places including Fatehpur, Sikar, Churu, Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh and Barmer are likely to log minimum temperatures around 10°C by next week.
