Ludhiana: Following an old rivalry, a group of men brutally assaulted a 28-year-old man with sharp-edged and blunt weapons near Country Homes. The accused intercepted the victim when he was travelling on a bike with his friend and attacked them. The victim has been admitted in hospital in critical condition.
The incident took place on October 30 but PAU Police lodged an FIR on Thursday on the statements of the injured man’s mother as the victim is still unconscious. The victim has been identified as Sandeep Singh, a 28-year-old resident of Dashmesh Nagar, Humbran road. He is admitted in DMC hospital.
In her complaint, Sandeep’s mother Amarjeet Kaur said that her son had gone out of the house with his friend Pankaj on October 30. At around 1:30pm, she said she received a phone call from Pankaj, who said that Sandeep had suffered injuries and was admitted to hospital. She said she rushed to the hospital where Pankaj narrated the incident to her. “He said that when they were crossing by Country Homes, at least 15 to 20 men on bikes intercepted them. The men, who were armed with sharp-edged and blunt weapons, attacked them. The accused assaulted Sandeep and injured Pankaj too before escaping from the spot. After this, Pankaj called an ambulance and rushed him to hospital,” said Amarjeet Kaur. tnn
