Ranchi: At a time when the Centre-state relationships are often strained, particularly in states that are ruled by a party other than the one which is in power in Delhi, Jharkhand assembly has made a novel attempt to open an academic debate on the concept of federalism.
The state assembly in association with National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) is hosting a national seminar on “Centre-state relationships” here on November 23 to mark the 22nd foundation day celebration of the state assembly. Legal luminaries, comprising the professors of various central law universities from the country, will congregate to deliberate on constitutional aspects of federalism. The seminar will be divided into 10 topics on various aspects of Centre-state relationship.
Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto and NUSRL vice chancellor Kesava Rao Vurrakula said the idea is to bring to focus the constitutional aspects of federalism. “We will publish a book based on the dialogue of the professors of constitutional law who will bring to perspective the ideal and legal framework of Centre-state relationship.”
