Youth arrested for abusing girl

Thiruvananthapuram: Parassala police arrested a man for sexually harassing a 16-year-old girl at her house when her parents were away, on Friday.
Aneesh (25), son of Russalayyan of Panavilakathu Puthen Veedu at Kottakkal near Narani in Parassala, was arrested under the Pocso Act.
On seeing the accused entering the survivor’s house, local residents forced open the door and found him in a compromising position. Police soon arrived and took him to the medical college hospital for medical examination as he complained that he was beaten up by the local residents.
Aneesh got acquainted with the survivor as he lived near her school, said police. On Friday, the girl didn’t attend school as she was ill, and her parents had gone out for work. Taking advantage of the situation, Aneesh trespassed into the girl’s house and sexually harassed her, police added.
He was remanded in custody after being produced in court.
