One killed, four injured as car rams into truck in Panipat

KARNAL: A man was killed, while four of his family members sustained injuries after the car they were traveling in rammed into a truck on NH 44 near Badauli village in Panipat district on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Satish Mittal of Geeta colony in Panipat. While, the injured have been identified as Rekha, Kamlesh, and two children identified as Muskan and Sahil.
Police said that On Saturday morning, Satish Mittal along with his family members was returning from Karnal after attending a marriage function of his niece. When they reached near Badauli village, suddenly their car rammed into a truck, which was reportedly parked wrongly.
After getting the information, police team reached the spot and they were taken to a hospital, where doctors declared Satish dead. The others injured were undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Ram Niwas, SHO, Sadar police station said that a case has been registered against the truck driver under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The body has been handed over to the family members after the post-mortem examination. The investigation is on.
