Man booked for murder bid on resort staff
Thiruvananthapuram: Varkala police have registered a case against a Tripunithura native for attempting to murder a staff of a resort at Perunkulam, on Friday.
Amal (22), son of Santhosh, a native of Rajakumari in Idukki, was assaulted using a beer bottle by the accused Nasbil (31). A seriously-injured Amal was admitted to Varkala taluk hospital.
According to police, Nasbil was a former staff of the resort, and he was terminated along with two others a few days ago due to some internal disputes. The three people arrived at the resort to speak with the manager over their termination. This led to a heated exchange of words and Amal was assaulted by the accused.
Nasbil absconded after the incident, and Varkala police registered a case under sections of IPC 308 for attempt to murder, 323 for voluntarily causing hurt and 297 for trespassing with criminal intention.
The case was registered only against Nasbil as the other two people who accompanied him were not involved in the criminal activity, police said.
