    How an analytics firm is using ‘eyes in the sky’ to tackle property tax evasion

    Synopsis

    A Pune-based analytics firm is using GIS data and AI to identify illegal properties and dumping grounds. It also uses satellite imagery to help companies sharpen their sales and marketing campaigns.

    In 2017, Mayurakshi Das was invited to an event on using artificial intelligence (AI) in civic management in Lavasa. It was a great opportunity for Das, already a veteran entrepreneur by then, as some 200 IAS officers were to attend it. But she rejected the invite as she was not a speaker. “They considered me small,” says the Pune-based entrepreneur, recollecting her decision.
