BIS teams raid fake hallmarking centres

Jaisalmer: Two different teams of the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) from Jaipur reached Barmer district on Wednesday. The teams accompanied by Kotwali police raided different hallmarking centres and busted fake hallmarking of gold jewellery. BIS checks purity of the gold along with documents.
On Wednesday evening two different teams from Jaipur raided shops which did not have license of hallmarking and their products were found to be hallmarked dubiously.
A centre operational under the name of Barmer hallmarking at Subhash chowk in Barmer was also raided. tnn
