Jaipur: Man attacked, robbed of cash, chain in Karni Vihar

JAIPUR: In yet another incident of brazen crimes on city roads, a man was attacked and robbed of Rs 7,500 and a gold chain near a bypass in Karni Vihar area of Jaipur.
The complainant, Azad Singh, said that he was returning home from the office on his bike when two youths in an inebriated condition waylaid him at 10 pm on Monday.
The two suspects roughed up Singh even as one of them tried to snatch his gold chain. Singh in his complaint to the Karni Vihar police station on Wednesday alleged that he tried to stop the accused, but they began beating him up.
He said that one more accused on a bike arrived at the scene and attacked him with stones and bricks. As per the FIR, the accused robbed Rs 7,500 cash and a gold chain from Singh.
Singh said that he has sustained injuries. “I don’t even know who these men were. I had never met or seen them before, I was simply going home,” he said.
The sources suspect that the accused could be drug addicts who carried out an attack to get money for their addiction.
The repeated incidents of attacks by goons on city roads have become a new menace. On October 27, a 46-year-old woman was assaulted with stones in Vidhyadhar Nagar.
