NU Senate polls: Tough contest on cards for all posts
Nagpur: The Nagpur University administration has uploaded a list of candidates for all important Senate elections where many candidates suffered a setback after their nomination forms were rejected.
At some places like for the principal’s seat (Women) in the Senate, there will be a direct fight after the nomination of Shraddha Kumar was rejected citing insufficient experience of examinations related work.
Shikshan Manch’s Urmila Dabir would take on Young Teachers Associations’ (YTA) Sharayu Taywade in a straight fight for this post. In the category of college management representative (Woman) in the Senate, MLC Abhijit Wanjari’s wife Smeetaa was elected unopposed after Kajol Chandansingh Rotele’s application was rejected by the administration.
For the four posts of college management representative (Men), 12 applications were received of which Akshay Moglewar’s nomination was rejected by the administration. Many bigwigs would be contesting in this category, including senior academicians and NU veterans Baban Taywade, Rajesh Bhoyar and Arun Motghare.
For five posts of principals in the open category, nine applications were received. On other hand for one post of NU teacher, five nominations have been received.
