Bicholim: Work of laying 11 KV underground power cables in Bicholim town will start from November 5, local MLA Chandrakant Shetye said. The work is being undertaken at a cost of Rs 29 crore.
Shetye said that once completed, this will help resolve the issues of frequent power outages and erratic power supply in Bicholim town.
Stating that the existing power poles and cables are not in a good condition, Shetye said this makes it difficult to undertake works such as shifting of poles.
Work of laying underground power cables has already started in Sal and Menkurem, Shetye said, adding that work will also continue in other villages step-by-step.
BMC chairperson Kundan Falari said that all old power circuits and conductors have been replaced with the new ones, which has helped tremendously in improving power supply in Bicholim town.
