PATNA: The state on Thursday registered 210 new dengue cases and one official death, taking the toll to 10 in
Bihar this year.
The deceased was a 55-year-old woman, who was admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday evening. She died around mid-night within a few hours of her admission. Her death was officially reported on Thursday.
Of the total cases, maximum 170 were registered in Patna district alone, followed by Vaishali (9), Bhagalpur (5), Gaya (4), Nalanda (4), Nawada (3), Madhepura (3) and Bhojpur (3). Aurangabad, Banka, Darbhanga, Katihar, Samastipur, Saran, Supaul and West Champaran had one new dengue case each. Another person from outside Bihar too had tested positive here.
With 210 new cases, the total dengue tally has reached 10299 in Bihar this year, with a maximum 7924 cases registered in Patna. Also, of the total ten deaths so far, seven were from Patna, two in Nalanda and one in Munger.
As far as admission in the hospitals are concerned, total 14 people with dengue were admitted in different hospitals across the state and as on Thursday, 143 were undergoing treatment at hospitals.
