Constable held for raping minor girl suspended

Ponda: Goa police suspended the services of Vijay Gaunekar, 28, a police constable posted at South Goa police headquarter, Margao, on Friday.
Gaunekar is presently in Ponda police custody for allegedly raping a 15-year-old minor girl.
Following a complaint from her parent, Ponda police arrested Gaunekar on Thursday and he has been remanded in two days police custody, Ponda PI Vijaykumar Chodankar said.
As per the complaint, the accused lured the minor, took her to his house and raped her. After the girl was seen with the accused, her family questioned her and she narrated the incident.
