Agencies
A police officer, who was visiting Disney World for a holiday, could not believe his luck when he spotted a criminal, who had been on the run for a year. Jeff Andre, the federal postal inspector, was walking around the Animal Kingdom when he spotted the criminal his team was searching for. New York's Quashon Burton (31) has a unique "H" letter tattoo on his neck, and Andre was stunned when he spotted Burton.

Important milestone

Disney World is about to kick off its big 50th anniversary celebration on Oct 1. The 18-month long event to mark this milestone is being dubbed as "the world's most magical celebration". All four parks at the Lake Buena Vista, Florida, resort will take part in this extravaganza.

The past

WDWNT said that Burton was living in Brooklyn when he fled in last November. He reportedly obtained aid fraudulently for coronavirus and stole at least four people's identities to take Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) government loans, which were in place to help struggling businesses during COVID-19. He stole around $150,000 in federal loans. Prosecutors suggested that Burton can mask his real identity and evade the law. He had also lied about his identity, so he could not be arrested. Burton also used fake identities when he was on the run, including during the Disney World visit.
Andre called the county sheriff's office but did not apprehend the fugitive himself. The police confronted Burton around an hour after confirming his identity.
