Uttarakhand cancels psychiatry test for MBBS students
DEHRADUN: Reacting to a TOI report on mandatory psychiatry test for MBBS students insisted upon by Haldwani Medical College, the state medical education department has directed the college authorities to “immediately stop the practice." The medical college had allowed admission to its 150 seats only after a mandatory psychiatry test. On Wednesday, TOI had reported that there was discomfort among students over the order.
“All orders related to the mandatory psychiatry examination, if any, are to be cancelled immediately,” said a directive issued by Dr Ashutosh Sayana, director, Uttarakhand medical education department.
NEET counselling for academic session 2022-23 is presently ongoing.
