November 15 is new deadline to seek power subsidy in Delhi

NEW DELHI: With a little over 34 lakh, or 60%, of 58 lakh domestic electricity consumers opting for the voluntary subsidy scheme till October 31, Delhi government has decided to extend the last day of applying for the facility to November 15.
This means, consumers opting in for the subsidy till November 15 will continue getting the subsidy without any break. Those applying after November 15 now will get the waiver on electricity bills from the date they opt-in for the subsidy.
Officials said the decision was taken by the government to give relief to those consumers who missed the electricity subsidy application window.
Till November 3, the number of people applying for subsidy increased by another one lakh to 35 lakh in total.
In 2021-22, of 58 lakh eligible domestic consumers, more than 54 lakh got subsidy.
