Rajnath Singh replied with a smile: “Dhairya rakhiye (Have patience)”. His remarks on October 27 that India’s goal is to reclaim PoK areas such as Gilgit and Baltistan weren’t lost on the people at an election rally in Kangra district of
Himachal Pradesh on Thursday.
The chants were heard when Singh was praising former soldiers of the Kangra region at the rally held in support of
BJP candidate Ravinder Dhiman for the Jaisinghpur constituency.
The defence minister said nobody could forget the sacrifices made by the hill state’s soldiers. “They played a big role in keeping this country safe . ” He asked people to elect BJP for asecond consecutive term. “It is election time and many political parties will come and tell you what they can do. But I can tell you one thing about BJP. It does what itsays. ”
The minister said BJP had promised to remove Article 370 that accorded special status to J&K and the party did it eventually. “Many people didn’t trust us…Political parties accused us of lying to the people.
But you saw…we removed Article 370 effortlessly. ” Singh said terrorism would also end in India.
