VADODARA: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) started removing banners, posters, hoardings and other publicity material of political parties in the city on Thursday when the model code of conduct for the assembly polls came into force.
Teams of the civic body fanned out in different parts of the city and removed 76 posters, 169 banners, 58 hoardings and 401 wall paintings. The process will continue till all such material is removed.
Sources said that the official cars of the functionaries of the VMC elected wing were also submitted back at the civic body.

BJP had been given cars by the civic body. The district administration also sent teams to remove such material. They removed 510 posters, 190 banners, 340 wall writings and other material in the outdoor publicity material removal drive.
