Maharashtra: 6 sand mining boats set on fire in Kalyan creek

KALYAN: Acting against a gang that excavated sand from Kalyan creek, the state revenue officials on Thursday set six boats used for sand mining on fire and also damaged three suction pumps by immersing them in the creek.
The revenue officials also seized 656 brass sand, thereby causing the accused a collective loss ofRs 94 lakh.
