Bhubaneswar: The state has spent Rs 165 crore every month this year for the treatment of around 73,000 patients in empanelled private hospitals under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), a government statement said.
After launch of BSKY Smart Health Card from September 1, a total of 5.4 lakh patients availed services worth Rs 1,191 crore. Out of these, 23,000 beneficiaries availed services worth Rs 64.25 crore in empanelled hospitals outside the state. The matter came to light during a review of BSKY by chief minister

The health cards were given to 96.5 lakh families covering over 3.3 crore people.
Under the scheme, launched in 2018, 500 private hospitals within and outside the state are empanelled currently. Out of these 500, 98 hospitals are outside the state.
