The unveil date of the new Innova Hycross was revealed, according to rumours the new Innova Hycross will be unveiled in the Indian market on 25th November. It is expected that Toyota will officially launch the Toyota Innova Hycross next year, possibly at the 2023 Auto Expo.
The new Toyota Innova will sport the ‘Hycross’ suffix while ditching the Crysta suffix and will be sold alongside the existing Innova Crysta Petrol. Here are the top 5 things that make the Hycross better than the existing Innova Crysta.
1. Monocoque layoutThe new Innova Hycross will feature a monocoque layout instead of the ladder-frame construction seen on earlier Innova models. In addition, the new model will now feature a front-wheel drive (FWD) layout instead of rear-wheel drive (RWD). These two changes will completely change the way vehicle drives and mostly for good in the urban environment.
Vehicles with monocoque layouts are generally better than ladder-frame vehicles in terms of handling and have lesser vertical movement, translating into more comfortable ride quality.
2. Hybrid EngineThe new Innova Hycross is expected to be offered only with a 2.0-litre NA petrol engine with hybrid technology. This would make the Innova Hycross a significant upgrade over the Crysta in terms of fuel efficiency, as the hybrid system will allow it to operate under electric power for a large amount of time.
Emissions will also go down significantly, keeping in line with the current sustainability requirements.
3. ADASThe new Toyota Innova Hycross will also be much safer than the Innova Crysta. The new Hycross is expected to get ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, auto high beam assist, and forward-collision warning. Other standard safety features such as TCS, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts will make the Hycross much safer.
4. Modern featuresThe Innova Crysta lacked lot of modern features that the competitors get. The new Hycross will boast lots of modern features such as a panoramic sunroof, a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, ventilated seats, a head-up display, dual-zone climate control, and a 360-degree camera.
5. Pricing and Rivals Talking about the pricing, the new Innova Hycross is expected to be priced from Rs 17-26 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, the Hycross will continue to compete with Mahindra XUV 700, Tata Safari, Jeep Meridian, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra Marazzo.
