Two minors, adolescent held for abduction of girl

Prayagraj: Nawabganj police on Wednesday detained three persons, including two minors and one adolescent, on the charges of kidnapping a minor girl with an intention to rape.
Police said that all the three were wanted by police in connection with a case registered under section 367 (abducting in order to subject a person to grievous hurt) , 323 (hurting) and 354 (outraging the modesty) of IPC and section 9 and 10 of POCSO Act.
Police also said that all the three accused had allegedly kidnapped an eight year-old on October 28 when she was returning to house after purchasing milk. The trio had forcibly kept a cloth piece into her mouth so that she could not raise an alarm.
However, the girl’s brother who was luckily passing through the street, raised an alarm after witnessing the crime and as a result, all three escaped.
The accused were nabbed near Dahiyawa railway crossing while planning to escape.
ASP (Soraon) Chirag Jain told TOI that the police have conducted a detailed probe into the incident and detained all the three accused, who would be sent to juvenile house.
