After Assam, K’taka saw most extreme weather events: CSE
Hubballi: India recorded an extreme weather event on almost 90 per cent of the days in the first nine months of this year, with Himachal Pradesh logging the highest number of human deaths, according to a report released by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE).
Karnataka, which experienced extreme weather events on 82 days during the first nine months, accounted for more than 50 per cent of the crop area (9.96 lakh hectares) affected in the country, the report said.

With 47,703 fully or partially damaged houses, the state stands second place after Assam. It also shares second place with Himachal Pradesh, in witnessing extreme weather events on 9 days in May, after Assam which had witnessed 20 worst days. In August too, it experienced the second highest number of bad weather days with 22.
