LUCKNOW: The Panchkula development model is going to be followed in
Uttar Pradesh.
The Yogi Adityanath government on Tuesday directed the housing department to constitute a team to ensure development of the cities takes place in a planned and integrated manner.
In the works for several months, the Yogi Adityanath government is in the middle of drafting a new township policy that will govern urban development in the state.
'Fill up all vacant posts in 3 industrial devpt authorities of Noida, Gr Noida' Among the youngest urban areas in the country, senior officials of the housing department and town planners have been asked to study the Panchkula model thoroughly and implement it in the upcoming townships of the state.
Panchkula is known for congestion-free roads, systematic layout of residential colonies and quarters, green cover, proper walkways and landscaped areas. Yogi told the officers that the terms and conditions of the land allotment and payment schedule will have to be spelled clearly in the new policy and vertical growth will have to be promoted.
The minimum area to be offered for township development will have to be 25 acres, and in allotments where more than 50 acres are allocated to a consortium or joint venture companies, the credentials of the lead member will have to be scrutinised minutely. The timeline of the construction work, various milestones and date of completion will have to be stipulated at the time of allotment to protect rights of the homebuyers .
The process of acquiring the land and changing the usage of the land will have to be simplified. A single-window platform will be set up to process the applications and all the clearances and no-objection certificates are going to be routed through the platform.
Yogi emphasised that the newly created urban local bodies will require attention of the housing department and asked officials to set up a convention centre under the jurisdiction of each housing development authority.
In another key decision, the industries department was directed to fill up all the vacant posts in three industrial development authorities of Noida and Greater Noida.
