SNDT University to start centre at Ballarpur next academic year

Chandrapur: A centre of Shrimati Nathibai Damodhar Thakarsi (SNDT) Women’s University will be establieshed at Ballarpur in Chandrapur district next academic year. The decision was taken in a meeting held between minister for forest and cultural affairs and guardian minister Sudhir Mungnatiwar with minister for higher and technical education Chandrakant Patil on Tuesday.
\The university excels in providing employment oriented and skill-based education to women. The meeting was also attended by dean of SNDT university, Ujjwala Chakdradev, director of higher and technical education, Dhanraj Mane and Chandrapur collector Vinay Gauda. Mungantiwar said the university which has fanned out to seven states is known for its unique education system. “Around 10 courses necessary for students of Chandrapur and surrounding areas will be taught at the Ballarpur centre,” he said and added that as the academic year starts from June, the courses will begin in two state-of-the-art schools in Chandrapur in the initial phase. According to the minsiter, efforts will also be taken to start new initiatives at the centre to mark 75th anniversary of India’s independence and centenary year of SNDT University. Patil said priority will be given to starting employment-oriented and skill-based courses at the Ballarpur centre.
