Yavatmal gynaecologist Dr Surekha Berlota dies in accident

YAVATMAL: A well-known gynaecologist of Yavatmal Dr Surekha Berlota was killed in a ghastly road accident on the national highway between Hyderabad and Nirmal on Tuesday, while three others sustained injuries.
The injured, identified as Pooja (16) and Athithi (18) daughters Dr Berlota of and one Minal Kale (40), have been admitted to government hospital at Nirmal, Telangana.
According to reports, three families of doctors from Yavatmal namely Dr Piyush and Dr Surekha Piyush Berlota, Dr Santosh Bodkhe and Dr Minal Kale had left Yavatmal on October 25 for Dubai for Diwali holidays. They returned to Hyderabad on Tuesday and were on way to Yavatmal in an SUV (MH 29/BP- 4200). On the way, tyre of the SUV being driven by Dr Piyush burst near a toll check post, 12km from Nirmal town, and the vehicle overturned after hitting a roadside tree. Dr Surekha died on the spot.
The injured are out of danger, said police sources in Nirmal.
After completing police formalities, Dr Surekha’s body is expected to be brought to the city late in the night.
The police have registered a case and investigating further.
