Arive Guru awards conferred on trio

Dharwad: Arive Guru Award, instituted for the first time by Karnatak University, was presented to three persons at a function here on Tuesday. Jnanpith awardee Chandrashekhar Kambar presented the award to Nirupadheesh Swami of Mareguddi in Jamkhandi taluk of Bagalkot district, scientist D R Goutham Desiraju and psychiatrist Dr C R Chandrashekhar. The award carries Rs 25,000 and a citation. tnn
