Vadodara: Roha Dyechem, manufacturer of synthetic and natural colours, has acquired city-based Saraf Foods Limited, a freeze-drying specialist food processing company for an undisclosed amount.
The 100% acquisition of Saraf Foods by Roha Dyechem has provided an exit to first-generation technocrat-promoter Suresh Saraf and his family.
Saraf Foods started production in 1993. “Over three decades, we started feeling that the company was not realizing the kind of growth it is capable of. Hence, we decided to sell the company to a larger business house which is capable of taking this business to its higher potential,” said Suresh Saraf, chairman and managing director of Saraf Foods.
“We believe Roha Dyechem is well-positioned to take Saraf Foods to the next level of growth and is the perfect buyer for the company,” he said.
Saraf Foods runs two units in Waghodiya and has a significant presence in global markets including the United States, Europe and Latin America. It had registered a turnover of Rs 90 crore in the last financial year of which exports accounted for nearly 80 per cent.
“Saraf Foods is a strategic acquisition for us and will help us further expand our product portfolio of dehydrated vegetables and fruits which includes microwave vacuum drying and air-dried technology with manufacturing in New Foods, Italy,” said Mahesh Tibrewala, managing director of Roha Dyechem.
