
UGC NET 2022 Result LIVE Updates: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Wednesday released the UGC NET 2022 final answer key at its official website. The results for UGC-NET for December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) are expected to release soon. Candidates who appeared for the UGC NET examination will be able to check results at – ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
This year, the exam was conducted in four phases — the first phase was conducted from July 9 to 12, the second phase was held from September 20 to 23, phase three from September 29 to October 4 and the final phase from October 8 to 14.
UGC-NET is a test to determine the eligibility of aspiring candidates for the posts of Assistant Professors and Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges. This eligibility exam is conducted twice every year.
The Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professorship are awarded to candidates depending on their aggregate performance in paper 1 and 2 of UGC-NET. Candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professorship are not to be considered for the awarding of JRF.
Once the results are announced, there will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of it. The UGC will not entertain any request in this regard. The Commission has already published the final answer key, candidates can match their answers to the key given.
The UGC NET score card will have these details:
— Name of the candidate
— Paper 1 score
— Paper 2 score
— Maximum marks
The number of candidates to be qualified shall be equal to 6 per cent of the candidates who appeared in both the papers of NET. Aspirants should have appeared for both the papers and secured at least 40 per cent aggregate marks in both papers taken together for general and general-EWS categories. And, it should be 35 per cent aggregate marks in both papers taken together for candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), PwD and third gender).
Candidates who appeared for the UGC NET exam can check their score cards at the official UGC NET website – ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
The UGC NET eligibility certificate for Assistant Professors will be valid for the lifetime of the candidate. However, candidates should remember that the JRF letter that is awarded will only be valid for four years, commencing from the day of the issue of the award letter.

For Junior Research Fellowship, the upper age limit is 31 years (it is applicable only for December 2021 and June 2022 cycles only). Candidates belonging to OBC (non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories and women applicants will get an age relaxation of up to 5 years. Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates with research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant / related subject of post-graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on production of a certificate from appropriate authority. Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates with L.L.M. degree. A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces.There is no upper age limit for applying to UGC-NET for Assistant Professor
Candidates who belong to general/unreserved/general-EWS categories can apply for UGC-NET if they have 55 per cent or more in their Master’s degree or equivalent examination in Humanities and Social Science (including languages), computer science and application, electronic science etc… from institutions recognised by the UGC. Candidates belonging to OBC (non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories should have at least 50 per cent in their Master’s or equivalent examination.
Due to COVID-19, the UGC-NET exam for December 2021 cycle further delaying the schedule of June 2022 UGC-NET, to regularise it, the authorities merged both cycles (December 2021 and June 2022).

NTA released the provisional answer key for the first three phases on October 18 while the provisional answer key for phase 3 was released on October 21. Candidates were given a window to challenge any answers given in the provisional answer key.
As per past trends, the NTA usually declares the UGC NET 2022 result and final answer key on the same day. Since UGC NET final answer key has been released it is expected that the result will be announced by today evening. However, no official statement has been announced by the NTA yet.
UGC-NET is conducted twice every year. Due to the postponement of December 2021 UGC-NET in view of Covid-19, the schedule of June 2022 UGC-NET has been delayed.To regularize the UGC-NET examination cycles, the NTA merged both UGC-NET of December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles), so that they may be conducted together in CBT mode.
