All India Inter-Rly TT championship begins

Prayagraj: The North Central Railway Sports Federation organised the 68th All India Inter Railway Table Tennis Championship at Railgaon in Subedarganj, on Tuesday.
The event, to continue till November 5, was inaugurated at Railway Stadium Badminton Hall by NCR general manager Pramod Kumar.
The championship is being organised for the first time after the Corona period and the NCR will be holding it for the first time, said general secretary of NCR Sports Association and chief public relations officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay.
GM Pramod Kumar expressed hope that by organising this championship, sports in the railways would get a boost.
“Sports are very beneficial for us as they teach us punctuality, patience, discipline, teamwork and perseverance. Sports teach us to build and improve confidence levels. It teaches us team spirit, which helps us to deal with difficult situations and all problems together easily,” he said.
He also extended his best wishes to the players, coaches, referees and other officials from different places, including Railway Board, for success.
Olympian table tennis player Sutirtha Mukherjee of South Eastern Railway administered the oath to all players. Around 12 men’s and 7 women’s teams are participating in this five-day event. About 100 players are taking part in the event.
