Couple attempts suicide in Bundi, woman dies

Kota: Two persons allegedly having an affair attempted suicide by consuming poison in Sumerganjmandi town under Indergarh police station of Bundi district early on Tuesday, said police.
The woman succumbed during treatment while the man was referred to MBS Hospital in Kota where he was under treatment.
“The couple, identified as Arti Meena (20) and Deepak Saini (28), both residents of Anwarnagar in Tonk district, left their respective houses late Monday night and went to railway station area in Sumerganjmandi town,” said ASI at Indergarh police station Babulal Nagar.
“The couple first shot videos of themselves and attempted hanging but failed to do so due to movement of people in the area. Later, they consumed poisonous substance on the spot,” the ASI said, adding they were rushed to community health centre (CHC), Indergarh, where Arti Meena succumbed during treatment. The doctors at CHC referred Deepak in critical condition to MBS Hospital in Kota, where he was reportedly undergoing treatment and his condition is stated to be out of danger, he further said. TNN
