NEW DELHI: Flying out of Ahmedabad could cost a lot more with the Adani Group proposing a steep hike in aeronautical charges from next February.
The Ahmedabad International Airport Ltd (AIAL) has sought raising user development fees (UDF) from the current Rs 100 per departing domestic and international passenger to Rs 703 and Rs 1,400, respectively from February 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024.
The Adani Group airport proposes to have annual hikes with charges in FY-26 being Rs 775 and Rs 1,544 (taxes extra). While UDF is paid directly by passengers, hikes have been proposed for landing and parking charges that are levied on airlines which decide airfares. AIAL has submitted its tariff card to the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) for the “third control period” from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2026.
