Rally taken out to tell public about traffic rules
Prayagraj: With the beginning of ‘traffic month’, a road safety rally was taken out in city on Tuesday wherein public was made aware about the importance of following traffic rules.
The aim behind observing traffic month is to minimize road accidents in terms of fatal and non-fatal categories and saving more and more lives.
The rally was inaugurated by Allahabad MP prof Rita Bahuguna Joshi at Subhash crossing. Senior police and administrative officials, including ADG (Prayagraj zone) Prem Prakash, IG (Prayargaj range) Rakesh Singh, SSP Shailesh Kumar Pandey and district magistrate Sanjay Khatri were also present.
Apart from cadets of 15 UP BN NCC, traffic cops also participated in the rally.
SSP said: “The pan-UP drive is aimed to spread traffic and road safety awareness among road users. There will be a series of rallies, events, competitions and seminars in the city throughout the month. Moreover, schoolkids will also be taught the importance of traffic rules.” Meanwhile, the SSP also inspected Shastri bridge on Prayagraj- Varanasi highway and directed traffic police to take corrective measures to ensure smooth flow of traffic.tnn
