Brindavan Gardens reopened to public
Mandya: Amid concerted efforts by the forest department to rescue the leopard spotted at Brindavan Gardens on the premises of the KRS Dam, Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Ltd (CNNL) on Monday reopened the tourist spot to the public. However, the north gate of the KRS Dam remains closed, with tourists being allowed entry only via the south gate. Entry is also prohibited to the musical fountain on the edge of the terraced gardens. However, boating inside the pond at Brindavan Gardens has resumed. The cage placed by the forest department near a hotel has been there for nine days, in addition to the one near the north gate. Foresters have also camped at the KRS Dam. Meanwhile, a forest department official claimed that the CNNL had not consulted them about reopening the dam to the public. tnn
