Shares of Divis Laboratories(up 6.31 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 5.04 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 3.68 per cent), Laurus(up 3.59 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.29 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Zydus Lifesciences(down 0.07 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 2.12 per cent up at 13492.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 133.2 points at 18145.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 374.76 points at 61121.35.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 ended in the green, while 11 closed in the red.
Shares of PNB, , YES Bank, and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of , , , and Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , , and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
