Goa: Six-year-old boy from Mumbai drowns in hotel swimming pool at Candolim
As per preliminary inquiry conducted into the death of the deceased, no foul play is suspected by the parents, police said.
PANAJI: A six-year-old boy from Mumbai who had come with his parents on a holiday to Goa drowned around 11.30am while allegedly playing in the swimming pool at a hotel in Candolim on Tuesday.
The parents immediately took the boy to a private hospital in Candolim for treatment from where he was referred to the Candolim primary health center (PHC).
Calangute PI Dattaguru Sawant said they received a call at around 12.49pm from the medical officer at Candolim PHC that a six-year-old boy had been brought dead.
As per preliminary inquiry conducted into the death of the deceased, no foul play is suspected by the parents, PI Sawant said. The post-mortem conducted at the GMC Bambolim revealed death due to “asphyxia as a result of drowning”, he said.
Calangute police have registered a case of unnatural death and further inquiry is in progress, he said.
