Mangaluru: A 41-year-old man died after he was reportedly electrocuted by a livewire that was placed to prevent wild animals from entering farmland at Kambirthilu of Kalmanja village in Dharmasthala police limits on Sunday.
The deceased is Uday. In a complaint, his brother Yogish K stated that the incident came to light after the family started looking out for him on the farm. Uday was found dead in the land belonging to Shivappa around 2.30pm. It was found that Uday died due to an electric shock near both his legs.
The family accused Harish and others of connecting a wire with electricity from Harish’s pump shed without obtaining any permission and risking the lives of individuals who pass by in order to protect their farm from animals. A case has been booked under IPC sections 304 (A) along with 34, and Section 139 of The Electricity Act, 2003.
