Bathinda: Twelve days after escaped gangster Deepak Tinu was arrested in Rajasthan, Punjab Police on Monday got his transit remand from a Delhi court.
A Punjab Police team took Tinu’s custody at the Patiala House Court in Delhi and will take him to Mansa, where he will be produced in court. Tinu will be questioned in connection with the May 29 murder of singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moose Wala. Tinu is considered an associate of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Satvinder Singh alias Goldy Brar.
Tinu had escaped from the custody of Mansa police on October 1 night, when then CIA incharge sub-inspector Pritpal Singh, who has now been sacked, had taken the gangster to his residence. The special cell of Delhi Police had arrested Tinu at Ajmer in Rajasthan on October 19.A woman from Zirakpur had facilitated the escape of the Category A gangster.
Moose Wala’s father, Balkaur Singh, had on Sunday expressed displeasure over investigation. He served an ultimatum of a month to Punjab Police or the family would think of leaving the country and take back the FIR.
