CHENNAI: Three explosive substances were found at Hanumanthapuram near Chengalpattu on Monday two days after villagers spotted three unexploded shells here.

On Monday morning, a few villagers who were grazing their cows at a vacant land found the items and alerted police. Based on the information, Maraimalai Nagar police reached the spot and cordoned off the area
Bomb detection and disposal squad recovered the substances and sent them for examination. Police said that they had received orders to destroy the shells as per the guidelines. They have cordoned off the area to prevent villagers from entering the area.
