Shopowner killed in Begusarai; cops suspect old rivalry

BEGUSARAI: Unidentified criminals shot dead a cloth shopowner in Fateha market under Bachhwara police station area of Begusarai district on Monday.
According to local people, Sunil Yadav was sitting inside his shop when motorcycle-borne criminals reached there and shot him dead. Sunil was a resident of Rajapur village. Enraged over the incident, local people blocked traffic on NH-28 near Fateha village and vandalised vehicles passing from there.
Police said prima facie the incident appears to be a case of old rivalry.
Begusarai SP Yogendra Kumar said a police team reached the blockade spot to pacify the mob. "The situation is under control."
