Separate civic body for Dharwad sought

Dharwad: Former deputy mayor and Congress leader Deepak Chinchore led a march from Kadapa Maidan to the DC’s office in Dharwad on Monday to press for the creation of separate municipal corporation for Dharwad. Led by Chinchore, former MLC Veeranna Mattikatti and other Congress leaders, the protest began from the Kadapa Maidan and went through the main streets of the city before reaching the DC's office. Chinchore said the demand has been decade-old but so far, the state has not fulfilled it. tnn
