Joe Biden, Vladimir Putin among leaders to express grief

NEW DELHI: World leaders, including US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, on Monday extended their condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives in the Morbi tragedy.
Biden said, “Today, our hearts are with India. Jill and I send our deepest condolences... and join the people of Gujarat in mourning the loss of too many lives cut short... In this difficult hour, we will continue to stand with and support the Indian people.”
In a message to President Droupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi, Putin said, “...please accept my heartfelt condolences over the tragic bridge collapse in the state of Gujarat.”
