Navi Mumbai: Woman murders her two minor children, tries to hang herself

NAVI MUMBAI: A 32-year-old woman residing in Ghansoli has been booked for murder by the Rabale police, after she allegedly killed her two minor children by slitting their throat with a knife before she attempted suicide by first slitting her wrist with a knife and then attempted to hang herself to the ceiling fan hook at her residence on Sunday.
Bhaguji Auti, police inspector (crime) at Rabale said, "The accused woman Pushpa Gujjar resided with her husband, an icecream supplier, their 4-year-old daughter and an one-year-old son at a rental apartment in Chinchaali area of Ghansoli village. On Sunday around 4pm, the woman's husband with the help of their broke open the apartment's door as Pushpa wasn't answering the door. On peeping through the window a neighbour say her attempting to hang herself but failed. The husband found his two kids lying on the bed in a pool of blood, as their throats were slit his wife Pushpa had fallen unconscious. The neighbours informed Rabale police, while the two kids and Pushpa were rushed to NMMC hospital, Vashi."
Inspector Auti said, "The accused Pushpa Gujjar has been booked under section 302 of the IPC for punishment for murder of her two children. It seems like the husband-wife quarrel was the reason for the woman Pushpa Gujjar taking the drastic step. In a fit of rage,she vented out her anger on her children attempted suicide. After she gets discharged she will be arrested for the murder of her own children."
