Mumbai: Drivers, passengers not wearing seat belts to be fined from today

Starting Tuesday, the Mumbai Traffic Police is planning a crackdown on drivers and front and rear passengers not wearing seat belts in a bid to create awareness among motorists. After a meeting with union members on Monday, the traffic department announced that if cabbies ask passengers to buckle up and they do not comply, the passenger will be penalised Rs 500.
