Tiff with inspector in Ballia dist: FIR lodged against SP MLA’s son
Varanasi: The Kotwali police in Ballia on Saturday registered an FIR against the son of an Samajwadi Party MLA after he had a heated argument with inspector, Kotwali, Pravin Kumar Singh following a dispute over parking of his vehicle late Saturday. The incident took place on October 27. The video of the tiff went viral on social media.
Pravin Kumar on Sunday said: “An FIR has been lodged against Rohit Yadav, son of SP MLA from Phephna assembly seat Sangram Yadav, under Sections 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 186 (voluntarily obstructs any public servant in the discharge of his public functions) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC. Probe is on.” According to police, Rohit had parked his car in front of police picket point on railway station-chowk road on October 27 evening. Noticing the car parked in front of the picket point, inspector Kotwali Pravin Kumar Singh asked Rohit to park the vehicle at some other place which led to a fierce dispute between the two.
On getting information SP MLA from Phehna Sangram Singh Yadav also reached there with his supporters. The MLA also had an altercation with policemen alleging that policemen misbehaved with his son and abused him. The video of the incident went viral on social media. Later, police registered the case and started investigating the matter.
