HYDERABAD: Banking on the over 1.12 lakh women voters in the by-poll bound constituency, the Congress has decided to organise a “mahila garjana” in Munugode on November 1. The party plans to expose how men and even students were getting addicted to liquor which is distributed free of cost by some of the political parties.
Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy appealed to the women to raise their voices against this liquor culture and vote Congress candidate Palvai Sravanthi to victory who will fight against this evil culture.
“Participate in large numbers in mahila garjana and show them that the women are with Sravanthi, the daughter of Munugode constituency. Her victory will force the government to immediately start a junior and degree college in the constituency,” Revanth said.
Stating that both BJP candidate K Raj Gopal Reddy and TRS’ K Prabhakar Reddy failed to develop the Munugode constituency despite serving as its MLAs, the TPCC chief called upon the people to realise the tacit understanding between BJP and TRS to try and kill the Congress.
“All the surveys have revealed that BJP will get third place in the Munugode by-poll. As a result, BJP candidate Raja Gopal Reddy is down with a fever. The BJP members led by Raj Gopal Reddy are threatening the Congress candidate with the help of central paramilitary forces,” he alleged.
Former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir said the TRS has no moral right to seek votes of the Muslim community as it did not fulfil its promise of enhancing Muslim reservations from the present four to 12%.
